My name is Anne and I created this website to help bring awareness within the Catholic Church and beyond of the historical truth of the real presence of Jesus Christ in the Eucharist. This truth was passed down from Our Lord Jesus and was a held belief of all early Christians. As a cradle Catholic I never knew that! Once I discovered for myself this treasure, this pearl of great price, the Lord inspired me to study historical documents and writers of the Early Church and transmit to the best of my ability this Mystery. My initial project was in creating a brochure (see Resources). My husband then inspired me to build a website with more detailed information. I could never have undertaken this project without the help of my daughter Therese who helped in all areas of development.
I am most certain that those who browse my website love Our Lord Jesus. He is our only truth in whom we can fully trust and turn to. Jesus does not leave us in confusion. Jesus is clear when He speaks and the words He spoke in John Chapter 6 leave no room for error. Under the Rock of Peter He established a Church and since its infancy over 2000 years ago, all believers understood that He was truly present in the Breaking of the Bread. It was not until the 11th century that any significant questions arose. That is proof enough for me to believe even at times when I don’t understand.
The spark that ignited this fire to share these truths came from listening to a talk by a Christian preacher named Francis Chan. I can’t recall ever witnessing such zeal as when he came face to face with the knowledge of early Christian worship. He says, “I didn’t know for the first 1500 years of church history everyone saw [the Lord’s Supper] as the literal body and blood of Christ.” He goes on, “And it wasn’t until 500 years ago that someone popularized the thought that it’s just a symbol and nothing more. I didn’t know that. I thought, ‘Wow, that’s something to consider.’”
My sincere prayer is for all of you to consider this truth. For the sad reality is that even the majority of Catholics today do not even believe in the Real Presence. Yet He is always waiting for us. He desires such an intimacy with us that He comes in the simple form of bread and wine, simple elements to sustain us. As Our Father reigned down manna to feed the chosen people and give life to their bodies, so now does the Son descend down in the form of bread to give life to our souls. Come let us worship Him as He desires!
“Lord Jesus Christ, You gave us the Eucharist as the memorial of Your suffering and death. May our worship of this sacrament of Your body and blood help us to experience the salvation You won for us and the peace of the kingdom where You live with the Father and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.” (Benediction Prayer)
